Industrial AI practice

Put AI to work in one workflow, with someone who owns it.

For industrial organisations using AI in their own operations: maintenance, quality, technical service, planning or engineering knowledge. The aim is a capability in accepted use, not another pilot. You do not need to be building a product to sell.

Three places this work starts

  • New implementation

A workflow and an owner are named. The capability does not exist yet, and the first question is whether AI beats the existing tools at all. Answering it is the first milestone of one Product Leadership Mission quote: the current process and the tools you already have are compared before any technology is selected, and acceptance criteria are set. The quote names that milestone, either side may stop after it, and only that milestone is invoiced. The work can end there with a written decision to fix the process, use a tool you already have, or stop.

  • Recovery

A pilot or tool exists and stalled before daily use. Users, acceptance or ownership were never settled.

  • Rollout

A capability works in one place and has to reach the next lines, sites or teams without being rebuilt each time.

What changes

  • One workflow, one user group and one operating owner are named before any technology is selected.
  • The non-AI baseline and the tools you already have are compared first.
  • Acceptance is agreed with the person who runs the workflow, in their terms.
  • Users are prepared, the operating procedure is written and escalation is defined.
  • A bounded stabilisation period ends in handover to the operating owner.

How the work runs

  1. Frame

A 30-minute fit call identifies the decision or result, the missing evidence and whether this is the right mandate. Sometimes the answer is that it is not.

  2. Scope

Scope, acceptance evidence, responsibilities and price are agreed in writing before work starts.

  3. Work

Work runs against named evidence gates from the Hyperion Physical AI Product System, with your team and any specialists named in scope.

  4. Hand over

Every engagement ends with a decision record, the evidence behind it and a named owner on your side. Rights in documents and any software Hyperion supplies follow the Terms of Sale; where a deliverable is to go into a product or service you supply to others, the wider rights are set out in the proposal.

  • Public method

Published reference material covers retrieval over industrial knowledge, including the controls that have to be built and tested: freshness, access filtering and abstention.

  • Modelled

A fictional worked acceptance pack shows the shape of the record for one operational workflow: the baseline, the non-AI comparators, the acceptance measures, the operator procedure, the plant's own cost lines and a worked decision. Every figure in it is invented. It is not a client result.

Scoping examples

Each example shows how an assignment can be scoped. None describes client work, and none carries a result or a price.

  • AI: a candidate, compared first with existing tools and a process fix

    Technical-service and dealer knowledge workflow

Compared first with repairing documentation and search, existing dealer tools and rules-based guided diagnostics. If one of those is enough, that is the result that is delivered.

    Who asks
    Aftersales or technical-service leader
    Situation
Technicians spend time locating, checking and applying approved service information, and the same escalations repeat.
    What is bought
One bounded technical-information workflow in accepted use: access-controlled retrieval against current approved information, human verification, an escalation path, prepared users and a named operating owner.
    Boundary
No unrestricted repair instructions and no automatic safety decisions. Licensing of service information and the technician's responsibility are respected.
  • AI: a candidate, compared first with existing tools and a process fix

Charging incident triage and field recovery

Compared first with existing charging-management tools, a better fault taxonomy and service-process repair. If one of those is enough, that is the result that is delivered.

    Who asks
Operations or service leader at a charge point operator
    Situation
For one equipment cohort, fault evidence, remote triage and technician escalation create repeat work and slow recovery.
    What is bought
One incident workflow in accepted use for that cohort: evaluated diagnosis support, permitted escalation, prepared users and a named operating owner, judged on correctly triaged incidents and time to accepted resolution.
    Boundary
Suggestion only. A suggestion never authorises a remote command: any remote action needs written permissions, acceptance by the operator's qualified authority, independent constraints, logging and a recovery path, and is scoped separately. No uptime or avoided-visit figure is promised.
  • AI: a candidate, compared first with existing tools and a process fix

One plant workflow put into accepted use

Compared first with the existing tools and with fixing the process. If one of those is enough, that is the result that is delivered.

    Who asks
Operations, maintenance or quality leader at a manufacturer
    Situation
A maintenance or quality capability worked in a trial on one line, but it is not part of the daily workflow and nobody is named to run it.
    What is bought
One capability in accepted use in one workflow: acceptance criteria agreed with the workflow owner, prepared users, an operating procedure and a bounded stabilisation period before handover.
    Boundary
The plant keeps operating authority. Safety functions, deterministic control and conformity work stay with qualified owners.
