Evaluate → accept, revise or replace

Illustrative choices, not a mandatory Mistral stack or an implemented Hyperion deployment.

Begin with a useful application.

Physical and Industrial AI need more than a capable model. Establish a useful workflow, its operating owner and the evidence required for acceptance. These examples illustrate possible scopes; they are not client case studies.

Engineering knowledge

Approved manuals and engineering records → a cited answer or explicit abstention → an engineer who checks its relevance. Evaluate retrieval, document permissions and misleading answers before rollout.

Can the user verify the answer against an approved source?

Private knowledge and RAG

Operational agents

An authorised request → a prepared report or proposed workflow action → the responsible operator's approval where required. Evaluate denied permissions, retries, ambiguous effects and recovery as well as successful tasks.

Can the system explain what happened without inventing success?

Governed agents and harnesses

Field assistance

A device or site observation → bounded assistance → a qualified person who decides the next action. Qualify the exact model and hardware under the required connectivity and resource limits.

Does the real device meet the workload, including failure conditions?

Edge qualification

Field assistance does not establish autonomous machine control or a safety case. Perception, planning, actuation and independent assurance require separately defined engineering and evidence.

Choose the layer you need.

Mistral's models, applications and infrastructure serve different needs. A project does not need the whole stack. Qualify access, supported features, deployment options and supplier obligations before selecting a platform.

Models and Inference

Choose an exact model and execution arrangement. Hyperion can frame the quality, failure, resource and data-flow evaluation and compare suitable alternatives.

Mistral Inference

Studio

Build and manage applications, agents and tools where its capabilities fit. Define connector authority, evaluation, approval, workflow state and recovery requirements.

Mistral Studio

Vibe

Select useful assisted work for a founder or team, integrate it into existing tools and establish permissions, review and adoption criteria.

Mistral Vibe

Forge

Assess enterprise customization against a baseline: data rights, evaluation readiness, available delivery capacity and the specific methods and access offered under contract.

Mistral Forge

Compute

Translate the workload into capacity and operating requirements, then coordinate infrastructure choices with the responsible supplier. Hyperion is not the compute supplier.

Mistral Compute

Prove the fit before rollout.

Start with a decision record and an evaluation baseline. Configuration, retrieval, inference optimisation and training are distinct interventions; choose the smallest change that satisfies the acceptance criteria.

The model record

Exact release or endpoint, licence and derivative terms, runtime, quantisation provenance, full memory requirements, intended tasks, known limitations and maintenance owner.

The adaptation decision

Compare prompting, configuration and approved context with tuning where justified. Use separate validation data, record provenance and check regressions. Self-managed adaptation and enterprise Forge work have different prerequisites.

The acceptance decision

Review observed quality, failures, latency and operating cost against agreed constraints. Proceed, revise, select another provider or stop. A polished demonstration or promised capability alone does not establish acceptance; use recorded results against agreed criteria.

Downloadable weights do not establish unrestricted commercial rights. Mistral releases have different licences and statuses; verify the exact artifact and customer entity. Retain regression evaluation and a migration plan for provider or model changes.

Model evaluation and adaptation in detail

Follow the complete data path.

Model execution, workflow state, connectors and operational records can have different boundaries. Qualify them separately; a local worker or regional endpoint does not make every part of the system local.

Regional inference

Mistral's documentation distinguishes inference geography from control-plane metadata. Regional endpoints currently exclude Agents, Batch and Files; supported function calling is distinct from hosted connectors. Confirm exact geography and contractual requirements for the workload.

Read the regional inference boundary

Retention and state

Zero-retention options have eligibility and endpoint limits. Treat stored conversations, files, libraries, orchestration history and observability separately from stateless inference.

Read the retention conditions

Workers and orchestration

Mistral Workflows is Public Preview, with customer workers and hosted orchestration and history by default. Map where code and records reside; qualify any private deployment separately.

Read the Workflows architecture

Identity and tools

Keep tool permissions and required confirmations outside model discretion. Test a refused action, a revoked permission and an uncertain external effect before accepting the workflow.

Security for AI and AI for security workflows

Provider material reviewed on 28 October 2026. Features and terms change; recheck the selected service at scoping and acceptance. This page does not certify a particular deployment or imply automatic regulatory compliance.

Keep the product decision on your side.

Mistral offers its own services. Buy directly when the supplier already meets the requirement. Hyperion's role in an agreed engagement is independent client-side product leadership: decide whether Mistral fits, connect suppliers to one milestone and define acceptance with the people who will operate the result.

Decision and scope

A workload brief, model and deployment comparison, acceptance criteria, risks, dependencies and explicit delivery responsibilities.

Agreed implementation

Only the code, configuration, integration or adaptation work named in the written scope, with its evaluation evidence and handover. An engagement does not imply an unlimited delivery team or 24/7 operations.

Capability transfer

An operating owner, inspectable configuration, evaluation and change process, escalation and replacement plan. Connect the work to your product roadmap rather than leaving an isolated demonstration.

Hyperion is independent. This page does not claim Mistral partnership, certification, resale rights, vendor escalation privileges or completed customer deployments. Name the supplier services and specialist assurance required, including who contracts, delivers and operates each part.

Hyperion
The product decisions, implementation, evaluation and handover named in the engagement.
Your organisation
Data rights, system ownership, approvals, an operating owner and the required engineering and safety resources.
Technology suppliers
Their contracted models, platforms, infrastructure, integrations, support and release obligations.

Deliverable IP rights follow the engagement terms; model rights follow the applicable licence or vendor contract. Product leadership does not replace independent legal, safety or cybersecurity assurance.

Choose the responsibility you need.

From a startup's first industrial workflow to an enterprise decision across suppliers: worldwide delivery with an EU focus, scoped to actual capacity and requirements. Fees are provided by quotation.

  1. Which approach should we choose?

    Product Decision Review

Frame the requirements, review available evidence, compare options and establish the next decision. Where evidence is missing, define the evaluation needed. Implementation is excluded.

  2. Can we establish one accepted capability?

    Product Leadership Mission

Lead one agreed milestone, with the code, configuration, integration, evaluation and handover explicitly included in scope. Name client and specialist capacity before delivery commitments are made.

  3. Who holds the product decisions across teams?

    Executive Product Leadership

Establish an agreed leadership mandate, priorities, decision rights and acceptance cadence across products and suppliers. Engineering, operations and independent assurance capacity remain explicitly allocated.

Practical questions.

Will you always recommend Mistral?

No. The decision should follow the workload, evidence, rights, deployment constraints and operating capacity. The comparison may favour another open-weight ecosystem, a managed model, a conventional system or no AI.

Can Mistral be run on our own hardware?

Selected releases can be evaluated for self-managed operation. On 29 October 2026, Mistral published official Large 4 FP8 and NVFP4 weight repositories. Their custom Mistral Ecosystem Open-Weight License includes a separate-licence condition for Model-as-a-Service businesses and defined exceptions; qualify the customer entity, affiliates and intended use. Hardware, runtime, security, data flows and operating ownership still need evaluation. This availability finding is not a Hyperion deployment result.

What do we receive from Hyperion?

The engagement names the decision, delivery scope, capacity, acceptance evidence and handover. A Review provides advice and excludes implementation. Any implementation needs an expressly agreed scope, responsibilities and acceptance criteria; ongoing executive leadership requires a written mandate.
